| Introduction | In high school, I had a teacher say, "I'm not the smartest person in the room, you all just haven't had the chance to prove it yet." As a student, I hadn't heard a teacher say anything like that before. It was odd to know that the person teaching me was openly admitting that he wasn't an all-knowing expert in the subject he was teaching. It was then, in that class, that I realized I wanted to teach as well. I wanted to be the person to encourage others to challenge themselves. I wanted to be relatable, fun, and, most importantly, I wanted to teach history, just like my favorite high school teacher. As an aspiring history teacher, I'm looking to find my own unique teaching style and practice that makes my content, and my future classes, exciting and challenging.
