About me

Introduction	Country Mom~ I'm a wife to Tony....married for almost 21 years, homeschooling mom to 3 kids (17,15 and 11). We moved to southern Mn 4 years ago to a little farm....it had been our dream for years. We have a horse, 10 hens which give us just enough eggs, 4 bunnies, 5 large neutered barn cats, and a little maltese. I have a heart for Grace based parenting. I love talking to people, but am an introvert...there is nothing better than being home alone. I love to junk, thrift, garage sale and I've found many a treasure on curbside clean up days. I hope to share a glimps of our country life with you. City Mom~ I live in the city...well actually, the suburbs. My husband David and I have 4 smaller children than Country Mom's. I homeschool my kids. I love discussing and researching all things controversial. My favorite topics are grace-based parenting and relationship homeschooling. But, I love to laugh too, so this can't be all seriousness.
Interests	Country Mom~ I love spending time with my kids and husband, gardening, taking care of our many animals, reading, cooking, entertaining, junking, thrifting, talking to elderly people, painting furniture, decorating my house...striving to get out of debt. City Mom: I love music, reading, and people. I like working out, watching the Biggest Loser, hanging out with my husband and kids. I'm happiest when I'm up on a stage with a mic and a really really good band behind me.
Favorite movies	Country Mom~ I love The Wuthering Heights, Jane Austin movies, Elf, Grown Ups, James Bond, Bourn movies, Alfred Hitchcock, Lord of the Rings, Miss Potter. City Mom: Dumb & Dumber, Tommy Boy, High School Musical and Hannah Montana (if watching with my kids), Anne of Green Gables, Jane Austen movies...
Favorite music	Country Mom: Oh, so many to list....I love blues, jazz, John Mayer, Lincoln Brewster, Sarah Jarosz, Jimmy Needham, Kalai, Joshua Radin, Anthony Evans, Echos on MPR....I just love music and am always listening to something. City Mom: I love love love all kinds of music. I have a degree in voice and I sang mostly jazz for most of my educational career. I like pop, country, jazz, rock, classical...music speaks to my soul louder than any other format and I'm open to all kind of forms of it.
Favorite books	Country Mom: I love Terry Blackstock, Karen Kingsbury, Maud Hart Lovelace, Sally Clarkson, Country Living, and Mother Earth News magazines, Kisses for Katie, Crazy Love, Gift from the Sea, Daily Strengths for Daily needs devotional. City Mom: I love Maud Hart Lovelace books, including the children's series Betsy-Tacy. The Thoene's are favorite authors as well. Historical fiction is my favorite.
