Introduction Kiswa, a new Tasmanian screenprint and textile design house, takes its name from an Arabic word meaning ‘a beautiful covering or garment’. This idea governs our design philosophy as we strive to clothe the objects of your daily life in beauty through our range of hand printed personal accessories, homewares, and artworks. Liisa’s screen print career began as a visual artist and its highlights include being the Head Table Printer at Signature Prints, this enabled Liisa to work with the Florence Broadhurst collection, also printing for The Matrix and Harry Potter movies, printing for Australia’s top fashion design houses including Sass and Bide, Zimmerman, and Karen Walker, as well as working with Akira Isogawa. Liisa has also been involved in community arts projects in indigenous communities, with diverse-ability groups, and community housing projects. Benjamin utilises his background in philosophy to draw on the relationship between metaphysics and art to blend traditional patterns and symbols with modern design. Our goal is to develop a new Tasmanian brand employing subtlety and intelligent design. Kiswa is always on the lookout for more retailers.
