Location	Friona, Texas
Introduction	As this blog is being published, I am 88 years old, living in the same little Texas town I have lived in all but one year of my life. I guess you could say I "blogged" about my life, especially my life with the Lord, for many years. Each morning I would have a quiet time with the Lord, read His Word, and pray. I would write down my prayers, my thoughts, and my memories so that I wouldn't forget all that the Lord had done for me and all He was teaching me. I especially wanted my children and grandchildren to know how faithful the Lord had been to me, so I kept all those journals. I've always loved to have Bible studies in my home and share with ladies in a personal way. But now I'm in a nursing home and it's hard to do that now. When my daughter had the idea of putting some of my journals into a blog I was so excited to think that maybe the Lord is not finished with me yet. I hope you will enjoy reading about my life with the Lord. *Update: On July 30, 2014, Gertie stepped into heaven to meet her Savior face to face with her children singing around her bedside. On her headstone are these words from Philippians 1:21 - "...to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
