Introduction	I am a George Mitchell Scholar at NUI Maynooth for the 2008-2009 academic year, studying Anthropology and Development. I've lived in Ireland once before, for eight weeks during the summer of 2007, when I interned in the Irish Dept. of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. The experience sparked my interest in how the Celtic Tiger and resulting spike in everything from immigration and profit to fashion and real estate has affected daily life for ordinary citizens and new arrivals in the Republic. Returning to Ireland for ten months gives me a chance to delve deeper into the impact of the 'New Ireland' on the social and political lives of its people.
