| Introduction | By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. Hebrews 11:24-27 I used to think that my joy and God's glory were completely unrelated. I lived for God's glory and not my own pleasure. I praise my Father of grace and mercy for showing me that the two are not at odds, but are one and the same, standing and falling together: that me seeking God's glory is what it means to seek my highest joy. When one is missing, so is the other. God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. Oh, if only we could fully absorb the implications of this truth! I guess that is what I will spend the rest of my life trying to do. Thanks John Piper. Thank You Father. |
