Introduction I was born and raised in the Silicon Valley in Northern California, studied political science at UCLA and graduated with a degree in journalism from Humboldt State University. I began working for the US Forest Service in 1989 while at Humboldt State, walking streams and counting fish in the summers. I've moved from northern California to Tennessee, Washington DC and Utah, working on the last two Olympic Games held in the United States. I transferred to the Forest Service Regional Office in Vallejo in 2002 and am the Regional Legislative Specialist. I served as a Solano County Planning Commissioner before I was elected to my first term on the Vallejo City Council in 2005. I was re-elected to a second term in 2009, and termed out in 2014. I now serve on the Board of the Humane Society of the North Bay.
