| Introduction | I spent about 20 years as a police officer and retired due to an injury. I sold Ford cars and trucks for about 13 years to supplement my pension, but recently had to leave that line of work due to foot problems. It's not fun standing around for 8-12 hours a day when your feet hurt. I'm not a pushy person, so for me, selling cars was a wretched, stressful job. Let's just say I haven't cried myself to sleep since leaving that business 2 years ago. So I guess I'm retired. I've got lots of spare time when I'm not swimming or working in the yard, so I thought I'd try blogging. I tend to see some humor in almost everything, even dark things. I'd probably have to attribute that to 20 years of police work. The car business had it's "dark" moments too....usually in the form of those secret conversations the salesman had to have with the manager when the Dealership was trying hard to rip the customer's head off. Looking at the humorous angle in just about everything keeps me sane....kind of. I consider myself to be a Libertarian/Republican and I'm the son of a very conservative, German Lutheran pastor, hence the name of my blog. I hope you enjoy my perspective on life. |
