Introduction There is so much more to us than our name, nationality, gender, race, wealth, religion, political party, career, and social status. All that stuff is a veil that hides who we truly are. Many people take it so seriously. Perhaps this is why humor is such a necessity - it helps us see how foolish we are to identify with our externals. Plus, all the absurdities and injustices in the world can make you go crazy if you can't occasionally sit back and laugh at them instead of becoming frustrated and angry. I value truth, fellowship, and enjoyment of simple pleasures such as a sunny day, family, friends, exercise, festivals, and great beer (especially Belgian and homebrewed). See http://www.amazon.com/author/benschwalb for some of my books.
