Introduction studied film at Columbia University during the late 1970s, receiving his MFA in 1980. He has written three books, all of them biographies for the young adult market: 'George Washington Carver: Botanist' (Chelsea House, 1989); 'Thomas Alva Edison: Inventing the Electric Age' (Oxford Univ. Press, 1996); and 'Alfred Hitchcock: Filming Our Fears' (Oxford Univ. Press, 2002). Having worked for many years in academic publishing, he is now retired and lives with his wife, Leslie, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
