| Introduction | I have been in the tourism industry since 1986, when I first became a rafting guide on the Snake Rive in Wyoming. Since then I have guided rafting trips in California, Idaho, Montana, Zambia/Zimbabwe, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Turkey. I have led trekking/adventure trips in the USA, Chile, Argentina, and the Philippines. I've gotten to meet a lot of great local guides and outfitters in my years of travel. I want to make the world a better place by promoting sustainable tourism -- travel that benefits and protects local people and ecosystems, and that promotes understanding of different cultures and lifestyles. I live in the USA, but often feel more at home in a remote region of a developing country. . . |
