| Introduction | Currently, I am a college student at Mills college. I am a sophmore intrested in the field of Sociology (my major of study) in correlation with Economics (my minor). In order for our society remain sustainable it's crucial to understand the social, political, and econmic systems and how they effect each of us. This blog will explore the methods of social control and power structures at the institional, political, and economic levels past and present. I am an active participant of social control,engaging in the institutional stuctures set before me. My passion derrives from the economic inequality resulting from the limitations the power structure places on people's advancements, economically and educationally. I am aspiring to understand the world around me, sociological scholar in training hoping to impact it positvely through policy and community action. |
