| Introduction | I am an American author from Jacksonville, Florida. When I first started this blog, it was to promote my novel, "The Yellow Bar." Since then, I have noticed that most sites on the Philippines and the Pacific War focus mainly on the American military aspects- the Generals, the planes, the bombs used, etc. What about the people that lived there? What did Manila look like? I wish this blog to be a scrapbook about the short, vanished time of American colonial Manila (1898 - 1946) and its effect on the Filipinos who lived through one of the worst wars of mankind.
