| Introduction | My name is Tricia Aylward (Garver) and I am currently a 6th and 7th grade gifted/advanced mathematics teacher at Ormond Beach Middle School (OBMS). I moved to Ormond Beach, Florida from Duluth, Minnesota in 2005. I currently coach the middle school dance team and MathCounts team at OBMS. I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in 2001 with a major in Elementary Education and minors in Mathematics teaching and Dance. As an undergraduate student I participated in many of the dance and theatre productions at the University of Minnesota, Duluth and in the community. Also, while working on my undergraduate degree in education I was part of a PT3 grant to integrate technology into the classroom. Because of this opportunity, I find it necessary to continually educate myself and my students on integrating technology into the classroom. This also lead me to recently pursue my master's in Instruction Technology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). I will be blogging about my experiences at UCF and the use of technology in my mathematics classroom. |
