| Introduction | Hello! Let me introduce myself, my name is Amy Ashcraft and I am originally from Texas, although I live in New York State because my husband is active duty Army and a professor at West Point. I speak several languages and have lived abroad a few times, Paris, France being the latest destination. Professionally, I earned my BA from the University of Texas in British and American literature, minors in Spanish and Secondary Education and I hold lifetime credentials in Texas for Secondary Education in English. I have taught in the public school environment for 7 years, focusing mostly on gifted education and teaching the writing process at the 11th and 12th grade levels. I have written curriculum for a variety of programs in the past already. I left teaching because I am blessed to be the mother of an adorable son, who just turned four. Now that he is in preschool, I am looking forward to achieving my goal to teach in a university environment, which means I need to further my education. Now you know a little about me and why I am here and I hope to learn from you as we all work toward our goal of a master’s and more! |
