| Introduction | With the opportunity to redesign the exhibition space at the Alaska State Museum, the SLAM exhibit development team is embarking on an exciting path to collaborate with co-curators from all over the state. Working with Steve Henrikson, Senior Curator of Collections, content experts provide fresh perspectives on the interpretation and presentation of the State Museum’s collection. A group of distinguished Alaskan historians, educators, writers, artists, cultural advisors, and language experts have been called upon to provide their knowledge and expertise on object selection, story topics and label writing. In addition to working with experts in different fields, the exhibit development team will hold a number of community meetings around the state to solicit feedback on the exhibit plan. The new exhibition at SLAM will include many unique voices of the Alaskan community, helping us to create a more inclusive, multi-layered and comprehensive exhibition. |
