| Introduction | This weblog is dedicated to my parents, Mr Sisey Nyayin (Babai) and Mrs Jehek Nga (Sumuk). They are participant of Sarawak Homestay programme.
Babai and Sumuk are Bidayuh native from Bau, Sarawak, the Land of Borneo. Their everyday life consists of going to the farm, tended to their livestock, my mom weaving rattan handicraft and my dad doing his duty whenever called by those who need a helping hand. To unwind, my dad like to sing his heart out with karaoke, and my mom will do some mini-shopping in the tiny Bau town. They are shy people, yet when it comes to entertaining guests, they never fail. Homestay idea is not to make them to work, but more towards entertaining themselves as all of their kids are away in the cities. At the same time, our home is accomodating enough to accept anybody who would love to learn, bring back good memories and a first-hand experience of Bidayuh life where you dont get to taste elsewhere. |
