| Introduction | Welcome to This Scepter’d Isle. I’m a mid-30s Englishman and married with a young family. My career to date has led me to develop knowledge of international relations, combatting terrorism and understanding the rapid expansion of Islamism. It is those things that have fascinated me for years and so they have become the main focus of my writing. However I still delve into domestic politics when I really feel the need to get something off my chest. I favour British withdrawal from the European Union because of the loss of political sovereignty our membership entails. Following devolution in the UK I have come to back the creation of an English Parliament, along with a written Constitution and a formal Bill of Rights. Away from work and blogging, my passions are sport and travel. I am a member of the Conservative Party and at weekends I can often be found supporting Arsenal FC. Thanks for visiting.
