| Introduction | I'm working on my PhD at Syracuse University in Cultural Rhetoric and Composition. I study the personal and interpersonal impact that social networking and digital publics have on local and global societies. Another component of my research involves investigating compulsive conformity to heteronormative gender roles. I'm interested in looking at exactly how prescriptive stereotyping in mainstream media sculpt personal and social behaviors and beliefs and how these practices can aggressively constrain equanimity, awareness, and justice. |
| Interests | I like analyzing and discussing the sociological interplay that's created when normative gender roles and rituals are propagated through consumer-based media. I also like cats (the animals, not the play). |
