Introduction I am Assistant Director: Social Work Education at the University of Salford. I am involved in an EU funded research project about Roma/Gypsy/Traveller young people's participation. I have recently completed work on a research project looking at the health needs of people who have been trafficked to the UK, published in the BJGP and in the Journal of Child Abuse and Neglect. I have been involved in several social media projects and have published and presented on this topic including the edited book: Social media in social work education (Critical Publishing). I am working on several projects to explore social media in social work practice with colleagues across the UK, including developing Apps, and researching how social media poses risks and opportunities in child care social work practice for Research in Practice. I am writing a new book about social media in social work practice for Sage.
