Introduction	We meet Lydia in the Scriptures [Acts 16:13-15]. Lydia was a wealthy business woman who traded in expensive purple cloth and most likely negotiated with the Roman military. Lydia was a woman of God and a prominent citizen who partnered with St. Paul in the ministry of Jesus. St. Paul first meets Lydia when she and other women gather in a place of prayer outside the city gates, near the river. These women were already united, part of a worshipping community. Lydia then offers hospitality to the first Christian missionaries of Macedonia.
