Introduction has written about youth culture and politics for over 17 years. He is the author of the critically hailed Somebody Scream! Rap Music's Rise to Prominence in the Aftershock of Black Power, which was nominated for a Hurston-Wright Legacy Award and has been adopted as a course book in classrooms at colleges and universities across the country. Marcus also hosts and produces a talk/mix radio show, titled after his book, on WBAI 99.5 FM. He is the former associate entertainment editor for Russell Simmons’s One World magazine. He has written for The Washington Post,The San Francisco Chronicle, The Village Voice, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and a host of other publications.
