Introduction	I live in the heart of the Pembrokeshire and am fortunate enough to be able to work from home. I like to think I have a practical, if somewhat optimistic outlook on life, and a good (those who know me may prefer the word “dubious”) sense of humour. I do not consider myself a “Grumpy Old Man” but merely one who believes in using his own common sense. Hence my biggest bugbears are the relentless appetite our officialdom seems to have in taking away the risks in life and political correctness to the point where we appear quite happy to upset the majority to appease the minority. My interests lie in anything that flies, be it aircraft or birds, the origins of which lie in a couple of Observer’s books that my parents gave me back in the 60’s. After that it was Airfix kits, aircraft spotting and photography (and I still do two of the three!). It was therefore quite logical (in my mind anyway) that when I grew up I would work in aviation…which I did and continue to do so some 30 years later.
