| Introduction | The past 4 years as a Republican has been tough. I always considered myself a conservative as I tend to believe in the importance of limited government, political civility, individual freedom, and Christian values. With the rise of Trump, it seems like the Right has abandoned many of the core principles such as those mentioned above. Even worse, many leaders in the GOP have adopted stances that are more concerned with political power than truth. Conspiracy theorists and antiscience crackpots have found a home in the GOP. This blog is a place navigating where to go from here as I feel like the GOP is not my political home, but I fear that the Left, while offering some political tenets I can hold and believe, is also problematic. |
