Introduction The quick bio: I was born in Detroit in 1975, my brother showed up in 1980, we moved to Texas in 1981 (my mom's homestate). I was a kid - kinda quiet, kinda dorky, loved my cats, fought with my brother, read City of Joy felt inspired. Eventually graduated from McCallum HS and went to Brown. Spent as much time as possible in Latin America. Studied International Development. Moved to DC aftergraduation and found a job at a USAID contractor. Decided that life in a cubicle was only one step above death for me. Leanne told me to be a midwife. I said "OK." Thus found my passion. Studied midwifery at UCSF. Decided to move to Africa. Came to Malawi... and the rest is here.
Interests birth, curling up with a good book, anything chocolate, conversations with beloved friends over warm beverages, bluebell icecream, painting and drawing, yoga, striving to live each day with love.
