| Interests | Some day I will be a published (by which I mean "paid", since I've already been published) author, so I guess it's a good thing that I'm interested in writing. Also, it helps that I like reading. Traveling, concerts, meeting new people, discovering new ideas, sitting still and going everywhere using my imagination, seeking the cosmic questions and providing imaginative answers in vain, the occasional hike, stargazing, kayaking, swimming, adventures, listening to the best playlists ever, laughing really hard, and stuff. Definitely stuff. |
| Favorite music | MYRIAD MUSICAL MAGICIANS. At the top, Hiromi, The Beatles, Radiohead and Bob Dylan. Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show is my most-listened to song on iTunes. Hiromi Uehara (jazz-classical-prog-funky-fusion-crazy beautiful experimental pianist) is the best single performer I've ever seen in my life. If she isn't part of your world right now, make her a part of it and your happiness will bloom. The Flaming Lips are the best full time band I've ever seen live, although The Books, Phish, Radiohead, The Black Keys, and a zillion others probably deserve a mention too. To summarize, rock, hip-hop, folk, jazz, classical, baroque, bluegrass, parody, crazy spacy insane. I don't like country western. I also love this little known wandering gypsy accordion/guitar/vodka bottle with nickels in it/piano player named Jason Webley. Christopher O'Riley covering Radiohead. Ludovico Einaudi. Takahiro Kido. Sigur Ros, Tortoise, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Do Make Say Think, Tool, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Ben Harper, Doves, Bjork, Portishead, CCR, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante, Broken Social Scene, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Modest Mouse, Air, Ween, Wilco, White Stripes, The Black Keys, Beck, Kaki King, Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Nas, Jay-Z, Outkast, Lil Wayne, Common, Aesop Rock, Del, The Streets, The Roots. |
