| Introduction | I write YA and MG books. My YA book, BLIND SPOT, will be coming out in Fall of 2012. Stay tuned for more info! I have an MA in Children's Literature and a BA in English. I was born/raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. Although I live now in Michigan, Alaska is a major part of me. I don't miss the winters, but I do miss the summers and that small town, out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere feeling. It is a big part of the writer I am now. |
| Interests | I write YA and MG realistic fiction with a paranormal element. I love the unknown, the draw of the mystery, the suggestion of a conspiracy. I like the way we live life thinking we have it all figured out when we really don't. |
| Favorite movies | BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! Who doesn't love that movie, right? Also, I love stupid humor movies Napolean Dynomite and Meet the Parents, as well as dramas like Cold Mountain and movies with suspense and lots of twists. |
| Favorite music | Seriously? I love music, period. My tastes are vast and wide-ranging. I was a metalhead growing up - yes, me! I love stuff I can dance to and stuff I can relate to or that has really clever lyrics. Don McLean's American Pie is a favorite, as is Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, but also new stuff like Sixx AM, Shinedown, Gavin Degraw, and Justin Timberlake. |
| Favorite books | As ecclectic as my musical tastes. Besides what's listed in my blog: Moll Flanders, The Awakening, The House of Mirth, Tristram Shandy (the original intrusive/crazy narrator), The Yellow Wallpaper, and anything Austen. |
