Introduction | _____________________________ My artist career started when I was the first woman to earn a Master's Degree in painting and printmaking from the art department at the University of Texas. My papers are in the "Archives of Women of the Southwest", a collection at the DeGolyer Library at (S.M.U.) Southern Methodist University in Dallas. I'm now retired and writing is my creative endeavor: HUDSON BEND AND THE BIRTH OF LAKE TRAVIS, FAIRY TALES ARE REAL, Westminster's WRITERS JOURNAL and their newsletter THE BANNER ________________________________ Over the years, there has been teaching, motherhood, volunteer activities both civic and faith based, travels and my share of wonderful foolishness. My husband Charles and I were primarily plein air painters, meaning we liked to paint the landscape on location. I also painted the figure and still life._____________________________ Our studio is at Lake Travis near Austin. I love the central Texas landscape and enjoyed painting New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, and Maine. |
