| Introduction | I am a Midwest gal, having been born and raised in Ohio and currently living in Missouri. I got into the Beading habit when my Daughter started buying handmade beaded bracelets. She knew I enjoyed crafting and could easily learn to make beaded jewelry. I received beads and bead tools for Christmas that year and I was off and running. My first projects were with glass beads and basic stringing with beading wire to make bracelets. I wanted to learn more so I took beading classes from local bead shops, borrowed library books on beading, purchased beading books, went to bead shows and joined the local bead society. As my skills advanced I learned to work with wire, semi-precious stones, crystals, pearls and seed beads. I started a Yahoo users group for beaders who like to work with seed beads in March of 2008. The group is known as the "seedbeadersters". We have "Bead Alongs" and/or the occasional beading challenge. We share beading tips, ideas, project photos and a pattern or two. Designing and working with beads helps to keep my mind active and provides long lasting enjoyment when I can share what I make with someone else. |
