| Introduction | I am a mother of 2 boys, I am trying presently to gather information from people in all states on the positive and negative aspect of the public school system. I firmly believe that we can make changes, but the only way for that to happen is to have enough people want that change to happen. I believe that one child dropping out of school is one child too many. I believe that we as a society have upped the ante for education but forgot the basics. Without the basics our educational system is failing many students. We must start teaching concepts in more than one way. We have book learners, oral learners, hands on. If all of this is applied in the same lesson perhaps all of the students will understand the concept. I would like to make a difference. I would like for all children to believe that school is a safe haven for them. It is time we see each student indivually and start helping them. |
