Introduction My research is in Sociology & Gender. I was awarded a doctorate from the Australian National University in 2010, my thesis was titled: Maternal Ambivalence in contemporary Australia: navigating equity & care. I launched an internet site at: www.maternalhealthandwellbeing.com hosted an online Professional Dev course, & presented a series of webinars with Nurses for Nurses. I have given papers at a dozen conferences, including the Australian Institute for Family Studies, the Australian Sociology Association, & the Association for Research on Mothering- Australia (now Maternal Scholars Australia), & MIRCI in Toronto, New York & Florence. I completed a Master of Arts in the early 1990s & worked with both Asia Partnership for Human Dev & Aust Council for Overseas Aid. I was an Online Moderator for a course in Gender & Development at the ANU & completed a semester with ACU as a Lecturer on Intro to Sociology. I was both a mature aged student & a mature aged mum & my two off-spring have now blossomed into wonderful adults.
