| Introduction | Four years ago, my husband Ed and I were uprooted from our beloved home in Seattle and replanted in Beverly, Massachusetts, which is a small town around 30 minutes north of Boston. We came with the bare minimum of furniture, since we fully planned to stay only 2 years and we had found a small 2 bedroom home in which to live. Our house is only blocks from my husband's work, and we've discovered just how nice it is to walk to work rather than face the commuter rat-race that we were accustomed to. Our walk takes us down a few long maple-tree lined blocks, and then past a lovely pond, which is home to numerous birds, turtles, frogs and fish. Life for us here has slowed down and given us much more time for long drives, writing poetry (Ed's passion since arriving here), reading and visiting with new friends. |
