| Introduction | I grew up in Columbia, SC and became a pastor's wife at the age of nineteen. Since 1954 we have pastored ten churches in five states. I have done curriculum writing and articles for a number of years but just two months ago I became a REAL author, having my first book published. Its title is "From Harleyville to Beulah Land" and it is about my grandmother Beulah's family, the Harleys. The writers ink has gotten in my blood and I've set a goal to write at book about each of our family lines, a total of five or six books.Currently I'm about one third done with a new book about the Russ family, my husband's grandmother, called The Sojourners. I am so excited about the things I am learning through research. Most of my life as been spent serving my family in one way or another. Finally at the age of the double seven I am free to persue a career in writing! My goal is not to make money but to leave a legacy for my family. It is truly a labor of love! |
