| Introduction | What you would see on the outside is nothing out of the ordinary - a middle-aged woman, devoted to her family and home. What you would learn about me if you get to know me closer, is that my inner life is quite diverse thanks to a simple fact - knowing English. It is an everyday skill for most people these days, but behind the Iron Curtain 40 years ago learning English was a difficult task, an almost impossible mission. Anyway, I was a lucky one and throughout all that time English has become means of earning a living, making friends, meeting my husband, having good relationship with my kids, savouring my music and my books, meeting new people, travelling here and there, to name but a few of the benefits. That is why I am so stubborn when I teach. I try to transmit all my love to my students (poor they:)and that makes me constantly on the lookout for new ideas. That is why I am here:) |
