Occupation Writer
Introduction Wabi Sabi: Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect... For starters, it's a miracle that this blog exists. I have a pathological fear of technology, of anything with buttons that is smarter than I am, which is anything with buttons or eyeballs. Wabi Sabi Words was named after a Japanese aesthetic which, when I embrace it, brings me peace. Basically, Wabi Sabi is seeing the beauty in what others throw away -- a cracked bowl, an unfinished song, a life. It's following fractures to see where they lead, shining a light in forgotten places. It's loving a life that will not last, finding peace on a road without clear signs or rest stops, seeing equal beauty in both the diamond AND the rough. This is what I write about, the rough, the shrapnel stuck in my head, my foot, my heart.
