You have to dig a hole to China. Where do you start?

At one point this was a question about papier mache paper cuts but I messed something up. I don't know what I did and I don't feel like trying to fix it right now. Maybe tomorrow. For now here is my original answer ... What? I've never had one. Which really makes me disappointed in myself. Now I have to make something with papier mâché just so I'll stop feeling so bad.
