Introduction Welcome to my home and gardens--thank you for visiting. I spend most of my time growing, cooking and preserving my own food. I love to use fresh ingredients right out of the garden, but often my meals are a way to use up fridge items before they cross over to the compost pile. My favorite thing to do is morph leftovers into another great dish, with little-to-no waste. These recipes are often only a framework and methods. My recipes are intended to be modified to your specific tastes or whatever ingredients you have on hand. Not only do I love to grow what I cook, I try to preserve what I can to get us through the winter. I water bath and pressure can, dehydrate, ferment, and freeze bountiful harvests to enjoy during the off season. My meals are typically simple, healthy, and delicious, with a dose of indulgence once in a while. I'll also share some gardening and preserving how-tos and adventures in beekeeping.
