| Introduction | "There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then had been a widow for 84 years. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem." Luke (2:36-38) This dignified, dedicated, humble, holy woman, Anna, is someone I long to emulate my life after. As I read her story there is some kind of fire that is stoked within my soul. Her life was one of whole-hearted worship & prayer, culminating in the ultimate act of revealing the Messiah to all who were looking for his coming. Being in the sanctuary of the Most High is life and breath. Here we find all that truly matters. Anna opened her mouth and told the world. May God grant that I walk in her footsteps. |
