IntroductionI could get into all types of personal stuff here, but you're on this site for boxing, so I'll leave it to that. I'm a life-long fan of the sport. I vaguely remember watching Muhammad Ali vs. Leon Spinks I on ABC with my father as a small child. Shortly after that I became a Thomas "Hitman" Hearns fan. (I cried when he lost to Leonard), and later "Boom Boom" Mancini. I first started covering the sport professionally in 1999 for the daily newspaper I work for in Suburban Philadelphia. My personal favorite live fight was Bernard Hopkins vs. Felix Trinidad in Madison Square Garden, Sept. 22, 2001. Those who were there will never forget it. What can you expect on this blog? There will be a lot of local boxing news. By that I mean the greater Philadelphia region: the city, surrounding suburbs and areas like Allentown and Reading, South Jersey and Delaware. I'll also talk about other boxing news around the world, give my own insights into news around the industry. And I'll always reserve the right to throw in an opinion or two about non-boxing topics. I hope you enjoy, and feel free to respond and open up some dialogue.
