| Introduction | I am an environmental consultant, writer and photographer; specialising in birds, and arctic-alpine ecology. My main studies are on golden eagles, ptarmigan, dotterel, golden plover and greenshank in Scotland; and tawny frogmouths in Australia. I write on and illustrate these topics with my own photographs and post pieces on them in my main website 'Stuart Rae', and blog 'Wildlife and Wildplaces'. I travel quite a bit while working on my studies and in my free-time; and that is when I have built up a collection of travel shots.
