About me

Location Cleveland, OH, United States
Introduction Since 1983, I have served as a curator, educator, fundraiser, and museum director. I have worked hard to offer a resolute and inclusive vision in the fine art museum field, higher education, and areas of specialization such as contemporary art and photography. My administrative and fundraising achievements include successful building campaigns, strategic leadership roles in major capital campaigns at Doctoral/Research Universities—Extensive, tens of millions of dollars raised for the institutions I have served, and more than 100 grants from various state and federal agencies, foundations, and corporations. I have organized more than 300 exhibitions of art, dozens of which traveled to museums and galleries throughout the U.S. Many projects were among the first to explore participatory, multi- and inter-disciplinary interpretive strategies—now, a museological standard in the field. I’m more comfortable developing new paradigms for art exhibitions, public engagement, and the gallery/museum experience, rather than surfing the wake. My guiding value is service to others, to represent great art of our time, with a vigorous commitment to the betterment of society through the arts.
