About me

IntroductionCiao! I am teaching Italian at Spensley Street Primary School for Term 1 and Term 2 of 2013. Last year I completed my Master of Teaching (Primary) at Melbourne Uni after previously doing a Bachelor of Science, also at Melbourne Uni. I studied Italian through primary school (at Spensley Street!) and secondary school, and also throughout my Science degree. I went on exchange for 3 months at the end of Year 10 to a small town called Palo del Colle, about half an hour drive from the port town of Bari. I lived with an Italian family for those three months, during which I learnt a lot about the Italian language, culture and food. I loved Italy and Italian so much that I decided to do a semester of my Science degree at the University of Bologna, where I spent six months studying science in Italian. It was an amazing experience! I hope to share some of my enthusiasm for Italian with the students at Spensley Street, so that they too might take on the valuable and rewarding opportunity of learning a second (or third or fourth!) language.
