Introduction	YB.Prof.Dr.Ramasamy Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang. He is elected Member of Parliament for Batu Kawan Constituency in Penang State. He defeated Former Chief Minister of Penang(from 1990 to 2008), Tan Sri Dr.Koh Tsu Koon in the straight fight which was subdued as David vs Goliath, Prof.Dr.Ramasamy got 23067 votes; while BNs Candidate got 13582 votes. He's also State Assemblyman for Perai State Constituency, where he defeated MIC Candidate, L.Krishnan with the majority of 5176 votes, where he garnered 7668 votes while his rival from BN got 2492, and Independent candidate lost his deposit with 311 votes. Currently Prof Ramasamy is heading Committees of Economy Planning Unit, Education, Human Resources and Science & Technology in State Govt of Penang. He is the first Deputy Chief Minister of Indian/Tamil origins of the state.
