| Introduction | Welcome to POCneedTLC! I'm the founder, Jada Coleman, a Prairie View A&M University student majoring in Computer Science with an interest in psychology. I have always been an advocate for mental health, but I am specifically an advocate for the mental health of people of color (POC). Constantly, the mental health of POC has been ignored. We have been called "angry," "crazy," and even "stupid." All of these words dismiss the true, underlying issues that we face and play into the idea that "mental heath isn't real." On POCneedTLC, people of color can find counseling, therapy, or even just someone to help coach them through tough times. People, just like you, can be found through POCneedTLC and relate to you in ways you didn't know were possible! Welcome, again, to POCneedTLC. |
