Introduction	I think of myself as a writer. Am I a writer? Only in that I write and occasionally, I'm published. I work in a national writers' group that call themselves the BIG DAWGS, and trust me, all the dawgs help each other. They're tough betas and tough taskmasters. I'm not the chronologically youngest in the group, but I'm the newest writer, a "newbie" as they call it. I've completed one novel with marginal success only in that I've had some agent requests for full manuscripts. I'm working on the second, almost there, but it still has to face the pack. I advise all other "newbies" to find a pack of their own, to seek out more experienced and preferably published writers and let them have at it. Maybe someday soon, I'll make the big announcement. "I've signed with an agent who's instituted a bidding war on my book." How cool would that be?
