Young children in the late '60s and early '70s were subjected to a lot of weird shit. And not just the children born of hippies. No one, not one child was left behind the weirdness bestowed upon children of that era. HR Puffinstuff, Clackers (solid glass balls on string marketed as toys meant to be "clacked" together in ever increasing momentum), cigarette advertising...Shaft. Herein lies a bridge to understanding the Gen X person in your life.
