| Introduction | I am a wife to a retired Army Captain and present day shepherd. a mother to two Bigs and one Little a baker a runner unemployed After 25 years with the Canadian Army we gave up a 6 figure income, sold our dream home and decided to pack it in to spend our days in a rented house on a small island on Lake Ontario where my husband tends to a rather large flock of sheep. My career was heading in an upward direction quickly and I took a transfer with the company I had been with for the last 5 years with a 45 minute commute every day, not including the ferry crossings. The pay was OK. I was spending 12 hours everyday away from home and miserable. I found it difficult to stay motivated with an unorganized office that lacked the leadership I had grown with over the past 5 years. I chucked it all to stay home. I now spend my days running, searching for local races, baking bread, folding multiple loads of laundry and taking pictures. |
