Introduction Magnog is a highly acclaimed Edmonds, Washington spacerock trio that in the early to mid 90's recorded two albums for Chicago's Kranky records. The origins of Magnog are in Edmonds, Washington band Space Helmet, which essentially split up into Magnog and Hovercraft, circa 1993. (Magnog's drummer and Hovercraft's guitarist are brothers.) Magnog's lineup consists of Jeff Reilly (bass, guitar), Dana Shinn (drums, guitar), and Phil Drake (guitar), with all three singing and playing other instruments. The band went on to play shows with Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3, EAR, and Spectrum, the Vienna Jazz Festival and also performed with Pearl Jam and Neil Young for the Pearl Jam fan club in Seattle. In 1998 After the band broke up, Reilly made further records as Octal, including an album for former Spacemen 3 member Sonic Boom's label, Space Age Records. In February of 2011 Magnog reunited to play shows and record new music.
