Introduction 'Ambar's' profile by Vineet 'Panchhi' : 'Ambar' Kharbanda is an unusual shayar. Unusual because everything across his life should have made him anything but a shayar. He was the only Hindu left in his entire school who continued to believe, that Urdu is not the language of a specific religion. He is still in that class... only now he has made a 'religion' out of Urdu shayari. He is an electronics engineer but is rarely seen at his business. Most of his clients feel he can make much more money just by opening his store every day. He thinks, his store should open on days he's not writing a gazal. Most people find it extremely different to understand why he continues to write and teach Urdu... especially in India, where religion and states usually want us to act 'as everybody does'. His poetry reminds us of what is left of 'truth' in this world. Subtle, down to earth, yet sharp... His words take on different meaning every time you hear them... but never cease to surprise us and make us look where it matters most. Within ourselves.
