| Introduction | Expatriate and Third Culture Kid. I live in Milan and teach ESL. Recovering from a few years of working for The Man I am quite enjoying the free time that comes with teaching. My hubby and I love to travel a lot and we are fortunate to do so quite often. I somehow manage the juggling act that is my life. (Trying to fit some fun in there, too). With a husband, two cats, anxiety attacks, studying for a second degree, and a house to run it's at times a bumpy ride. |
| Interests | TRAVEL, running, reading, yoga, cooking, painting, music (playing and listening), watching films, writing....and drinking. I am studying for a second degree in Music History with an emphasis on Vocal Music. |
| Favorite movies | Black and white films, especially from the 40s on. I watch silent films as well as classics like Hitchcock. Tarantino, Lynch, Almodovar, and a bunch of European/Mexican/African directors probably not too well known in America are favs. I secretly adore Bollywood films! I love British films and period films. French cinema has a special place in my heart, especially Truffaut. I will watch anything to give it a chance, and I find B movies very entertaining! |
| Favorite music | most everything. I especially enjoy jazz, classical, and house music although I listen to many different genres, (soul and r&b are favorites as are the bands of my youth, from the Smiths to Depeche to Cure to)...I listen to a lot of swing and big band. A few favorite bands/musicians/dj's: Thirty Seconds to Mars, Placebo, Junior Jack, Dj Pippi, Indigo Girls, The Servant, Oasis, White Stripes, Rush, Pearl Jam, Faithless, M. Etheridge, Guns N' Roses. |
| Favorite books | I think above all I love Wuthering Heights, Great Gatsby, and Dr. Zhivago. I also read tons of: music history, philosophy, native American history, history in general, biographies, fantasy, crime novels, historical fiction, religion, science and medicine, health, travel....and books on the plague. :) |
